Here’s all about Ada’s journey as a successful affiliate marketer with ACCESSTRADE Malaysia…

Ada’s early days in affiliate marketing

Why did you start affiliate marketing?

It is low risk and revolved around what I do in my daily life, for example, I share my thoughts and review things I purchase. With affiliate link provided, it would be easier for interested audience to get them. Indirectly, I can also earn some cash as a side income by doing the things I already enjoy doing.

Can you share a little bit about how you got started with affiliate marketing and when you started?

I basically googled ACCESSTRADE Malaysia after I saw about it on social media. It took me a while to get convinced but I finally signed up after a few months.

What was interesting about affiliate marketing?

It’s a passive income opportunity that is flexible to my lifestyle, and I can start doing it right away.

How did you first found out about affiliate marketing?

This concept is not altogether new to me. I was involved in affiliate marketing in 2010 but did not pursue it further due to other commitments.

Were you worried that it might be a scam?

Yes, since there are a lot of scams out there. Therefore, I did my thorough research before signing up as an affiliate marketer with ACCESSTRADE Malaysia.

How has your life changed since starting affiliate marketing?

I have not been very active on my social media, but affiliate marketing has given me a valid reason to frequently update my posts since I’m starting this journey from scratch.

What does your regular day look like?

Being a mother is my ultimate priority. So, I plan, draft, and publish my content at any chance that I have, which admittedly, is tough to find!

How is affiliate marketing helping you in terms of finance and career?

It encourages me to create better content since writing is always a challenge for me. After started doing affiliate marketing, I am more focused on improving my content in terms of deliverables and suitable context that makes people want to read and share my content.

Besides that, I engage socially through Facebook and categorize my content on the website to make it more organised and convenient for my audience to read. Through this content sharing, I subtly include an affiliate link to a product to earn some commission.

Do you see yourself doing affiliate marketing in the long run or is it a short stint?

Long run. I created my personal blog to make affiliate marketing a long term source of side income since I can run it at my own convenience throughout the day.

Ada’s tips and tricks to get high conversions in affiliate marketing

How do you create content to promote the products?

My content mainly focuses on 2 categories which are skincare review and tips, as well as, food that I cook or eat. For skincare review and tips, I test the products myself and write an honest, unbiased review. My review is usually about my experience of using the product. As a skincare enthusiast myself, I know very well that information about ingredients and the key benefit of skincare can be easily found through product websites out there.

But, other important details such as packaging, shelf life, texture, absorption rate, finishing, and how it reacts to the skin are the crucial deciding factors for people to purchase the product. Not everyone has the luxury of time to visit the shops personally to find out about the product details. Moreover, since the pandemic hit the world, there are no testers allocated for skincare and cosmetics in the shop.

When it comes to food I cook or eat, among my family and friends, I have a reputation as a person who loves to cook and go on food hunts. I always share my tips and reviews through social media whenever I have time.

What are your tips to remain relevant and active on social media platforms?

To be honest, I’m in no position to give this kind of tips since I just started and my followers are really small, but from my point of view, interesting pictures and videos are more appealing to the viewers.

Also, always remember to be yourself and stand by your opinion when replying or posting comments on social media. Sure, it will take a lot of time and effort to be heard, to be seen, to be known but consistency is the key to stay relevant.

What do you think is the key to be a successful affiliate marketer?

Firstly, understand why you are followed and focus on providing quality content to that specific niche. Being able to tell the audience about the product in an honest, unbiased, and relatable way to their personal experience will definitely make you a successful affiliate marketer.

Next, know your audience and provide more information and tips rather than hard-selling a product too much. Respond to their queries appropriately and sometimes, ask the audience for their suggestions.

What were the challenges you faced when you first joined affiliate marketing?

I’m starting from scratch. I just created a Facebook account and only approve people I know, so, my circle is really small. I need to consistently be active to get higher engagement and to be able to do that takes a lot of my personal time.

What are the new challenges you are facing now?

My current goal is to divert the traffic from my Facebook to my blog. So, I need to learn and work on SEO skills to ensure my content will reach more people.

How have you benefited by joining ACCESSTRADE MY?

I’m more motivated in terms of building skincare and food content. Though I am not earning as much as I would like to, for now, I’m working on making affiliate marketing as my passive income through SEO.
